Julia Warren is a PhD student in Dr. Ted Schuur’s Lab. She is interested in understanding how a warming Arctic is impacting the global carbon cycle. Specifically, she will be looking at methane emissions from permafrost thaw and associated radiocarbon dating of greenhouse gases. She hopes to gain a deeper understanding in the science and skills needed to inform policy taking into account pertinent cultural, social, political, and environmental realities.
