Connor graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in freshwater and terrestrial ecology, where she conducted field work in limnology, stream ecology, and forest ecology. During this past year, Connor served as an Washington State AmeriCorps member with Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group as a salmon habitat restoration associate. During her time with SFEG, Connor learned lots of different field techniques. Spawner surveys, fish and plant identification, culvert and habitat surveys, tree planting, beach seining, outreach events, and environmental education were activities that were most prominent during her term. Within ECOSS, Connor will be working with both the biology and forestry departments on the Southwestern Mountains Climate Resilience Center project looking at the dynamics of Ponderosa pine forests and how to make them more climate resilient.
